The Morris Jumel Neighborhood Association was formed in 2014 and it was incorporated as a New York not-for profit May 30, 2014 with an educational and cultural focus.
We represent about 500 area residents and encourage their involvement through attendance at neighborhood events such as the Summerfest, Halloween party, and Clean Up Saturdays throughout the year.
At present there are three standing committees in the association:
Beautification β organizes Clean Up Saturdays and the planting of flowers and plants in the tree wells on the streets in the historic district.
Events β plans and coordinates the yearly Summerfest and Halloween party, both held on the grounds of the Morris Jumel Mansion.
Safety β addresses safety issues that affect the area residents and works with the appropriate organizations such as the NYPD, the Community Board, and the Department of Sanitation to resolve them when possible.
